Explore Farmer's Markets with Eddie's Energy Bars®!
Dear [NAME], August is slowly becoming the calm before the storm over here in the Green Mountains. I am baking like crazy to stock up the energy bar inventory for many events coming up in the fall. Feel free to deplete it by ordering some bars now! The Williston Farmer's Market is certainly doing a great job of that, but I am so happy to be able to get my energy bars out to Willistonians. Read more about the market below, in our first news headline.
As promised, I have included another article by Dinneen Diette, a well-known health and wellness coach in the Boston area. She often visits Vermont, not only for energy bars, but to soak in the natural beauty of this state. Speaking of farmer's markets, her article this week is on the benefits of markets and the local economy. Make sure to read her top ten list--especially number ten. It's my favorite!
Oh, and by the way, if you can't wait for our monthly newsletter, you can always subscribe to the Eddie's Blog. Have a fun and happy August. Michael Adams, Owner Eddie's Energy Bars |
Eddie's Energy Bars are now at the Williston Farmer's Market Just a couple of weeks ago, I thought I would see if there was still time to jump on the farmer's market wagon. There certainly was, and I found it in the Williston Farmer's Market. We're now at the WFM every Saturday through October, except for two weekends in August. We have also decided to try a flavor of the week (or month). Make sure to check back on the homepage for the flavor of the week. It might be a wacky flavor that makes no sense at all, but that's the point...have fun with it! Don't worry, those of you that are out of state will be able to purchase the flavor of the week bars through the website if they go over well. So, drop by the WFM and support your local businesses and vendors.

For many people across the country (especially here in the Northeast) this is the best time of the year to eat local. Across the country there are thousands of farmer’s markets where one can find an abundance of locally grown fruits and vegetables. In addition to fresh strawberries, blueberries, and tomatoes, farmers markets often sell other local products like flowers, plants, breads, cookies, honey and even Eddie’s Energy bars! This time of year I visit my local farmer’s markets as often as I can. Having lived in France for a while, I got in the habit of visiting outdoor markets as the produce was just unbelievably fresh. The French often visit these markets daily, or at the minimum, once a week. For hundreds of years they have known and understood the benefits of eating locally. Afraid of Getting Wet? Exercise Inside! Like me,I'm sure you are sick of all of this rain. That still doesn't mean you have to scrap your exercise routine that was supposed to be outside. Did you have plans to go for a bike ride or walk into town? Well, if it's raining, why don't you call an old friend and walk around the house the whole time. You are probably going to walk the same amount of miles--and it won't even feel like you're doing anything. Other inside exercise options include strength training with an exercise ball, some push-ups, which actually increases the number of calories you burn by 20%, or you could always do some old-school jumping jacks.
