Eddie's Energy Bars® Heads Back to School!

Dear [NAME],
We all know back to school time is a stressful couple of weeks for kids, parents, teachers, and principals.  Over here in Richmond, Vermont, the Eddie's bakers are hard at work to fill the lunch pails of little eager eddie's (those are your kids). If you would like some Eddie's bars for your children, or for yourself, you can pick some up at one of our retail locations, or order online here . They freeze for up to six months, so you are more than welcome to stock up.

This is a very school related newsletter, as I am heading back to Bryant University to study hard for my sophomore year as a marketing major.  Below are a couple of updates (new store--yay!) with little tid-bits of information thrown in, as well as an awesome article by Dinneen Diette on how to eat right, while making this transition back to school and the changing of the seasons.

Have a joyous September.

Univerity of Vermont Supports Local Businesses, Including Eddie's Energy Bars!
Rose Leland, a devoted Eddie's fan works at UVM, and has constantly reminded me about the opportunities that UVM offers to local food producers.  With the help of a fellow farmer's market vendor, and the wonderful people at the Davis Center, I am now selling Eddie's Energy Bars at the convenience store on the first floor. The manager was thrilled I stopped in, and decided to give me a chance, so run on over there if you're in the Burlington area, and pick some Eddie's up. We're now in Burlington--WOOHOO!

"Cooking for Good Health" by Dinneen Diette

September is a month of renewal.  People come back from vacation, kids (and adults!) go back to school, businesses start to get busy after the lull of the summer, and the weather slowly changes.  Always a good time of the year to try something new, pick up a hobby, or get back into an activity that hasn’t been getting the attention it deserves.

September is a great time to get back into the kitchen and start cooking.  Whether you don’t cook much, or love the idea of putting together a meal, cooking a meal at home is truly the best ways to control what foods go into your body.  You and your family will eat healthier, have more energy, and be more connected to the food you eat.

But for both beginners and the seasoned chef, healthy cooking can be a challenge.  People often think it takes too much time and energy to put together a healthy meal, but quite the opposite is true.  My simple advice below will help guide you in planning and cooking for good health.

The Importance of Strength Training
A lot of people think that lifting weights won't help them out.  The truth is that any amount of strength training that you do is good for you.  Now, that is not to say that you need to join the body builders out on Muscle Beach in California, but you could always run to your local sporting goods store and pick up some light weights and start lifting those. In the long run, it is probably more beneficiary to go ahead and pick up a local gym membership and have access to all the great equipment--don't worry, they'll tell you how to use it!  As soon as you start lifting weights with your arms and legs, you will start to notice a difference in doing daily tasks that you used to think took you forever.  Now it's as easy as, well....energy bars!
