Happy Holidays from Eddie's Energy Bars!

Dear [NAME],

I cannot believe that 2007 is coming to an end in just a few weeks.  It has been an incredible year of growth for our small company, but so very exciting at the same time.  We are now selling our energy bars in three states, and we have donated to a number of local causes that have all been very appreciative of our donated time and product.

With the close of the year coming up, it's never too late to get some energy bars for that special person in your life.  Not only are our bars perfect gifts for people trying to maintain healthy eating habits over the holidays, but they're ideal hostess gifts for holiday parties as well.  Consider Eddie's Energy Bars for those who are exercising their way into the January doldrums, or for extra energy participating in a cold, winter sport. If you would like some delicious Eddie's bars to have with you this holiday season, you can pick some up at one of our expanding retail locations , or place an order online. Remember to place them in the freezer, where they'll stay fresh for six months or so, if you won't beconsuming them in the next week.

We even have a NEW FLAVOR for the holidays! At the farmer's market in the summer, we created custom flavors every week.  This holiday season is no exception.  Eddie has developed a Gingerbread energy bar with raisins that tastes like a gingerbread cookie.  The seasonal gingerbread flavor is available until December 31st, and may be ordered by requesting it in a "create your own dozen" order.  It may also be purchased in retail stores.

As always, you will find updates below, and a great article from Dinneen about calming down during this holiday season.

On behalf of the entire Eddie's Energy Bar family, we hope you and your family have a wonderful and safe holiday season.

Eddie's Energy Bars Participates in Jarred's Run
A couple of weeks ago, we had the privilege of participating in the first annual Jarred's Run, held by the Jarred Williams Foundation of Richmond, Vermont.  My family knew Jarred from the time he was small; sadly he died when he was in 6th grade of a brain tumor.  The JWF raises money to help other families of kids with cancer.
The "Turkey Trot" as it was called, was held on Thanksgiving morning, as a 5K or 10K road race on Cochran Road in Richmond, Vermont.  Eddie's Energy donated a bar to every runner, and also sold bars.  The Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip energy bar was the most popular bar of the day.  There must be something about peanut butter and chocolate after a race.  Anyway, with over one hundred runners in its first year, it was a great time, and we look forward to participating in the race for years to come.

Eddie's Energy Bars Steps Foot into Fusion Fit Club and Natural Provisions

Hot off the presses! Thanks to your requests, Eddie's Energy Bars can now be purchased at Natural Provisions new store in Williston, VT.  This is great news for you die-hard Williston Farmer's Market shoppers!  Now you have a year round source of EEB!  The bars are located by each register, so hurry in and pick up your favorite flavor.

We are also very proud to announce our second out-of-Vermont location that is selling Eddie's Energy Bars.  The Fusion Fit Club in Newport Richey, Florida has climbed on board as a retailer of Eddie's Energy Bars.  They have decided to participate in our custom-label program, using their logo on the front.  Don't worry--it is still the same great bar, just with a different label.

We decided to start the custom label program after a couple of our customers started asking for them for birthdays, offices, and now, gyms and fitness clubs.

"Overcoming Holiday Stress"
by Dinneen Diette

The Holidays are supposed to be a time filled with good times, cheer, and happiness.  But for many people they are filled with fighting traffic, dealing with crowds in stores, maxing out credit cards, eating (and drinking) too much, and entertaining family and friends.  It’s the season when you’re expected to cram in shopping, baking, office parties, and family gatherings into your already busy life.  In short, the holidays can mean stress.

But don’t despair.  It’s not too late to put some sanity into the crazy days of December.  Here are some tips to help you deal with – or even avoid – holiday stress.

Hitting the Slopes is a Great Way to Exercise!

We just got a fresh pile of the fluffy white stuff at our bakery.  No, we don't mean a flour delivery.  We got hit with a major snow storm, receiving a whopping foot of snow. We try to hit the slopes or snowshoe whenever we can.  It is a great way to get outside during the winter months, and work on that 360!  Skiing and snowboarding burn a ton of calories, and it's a great time to catch up with a friend while sitting on the chair lift.  We're only ten minutes from Bolton Valley Resort, so if you decide to ski or board there, you just might see me on my skis doing flips, spins, and other cool stuff! (Ok, no flips).  Don't forget that Eddie's bars stay soft even when frozen, so when you're at the top of the mountain, rip open your Eddie's bar and enjoy a delicious treat.
