Happy Spring from Eddie's Energy Bars
Dear [NAME], Spring in Vermont is an interesting time. Tons of mud, melting snow, and usually a lot of flooding. We haven't gotten too much flooding according to my parents--the baking and distributing team for Eddie's.
New test products have been flying out of the oven, bands are touring across the country selling our bars, and we're getting great notes from all of you, letting us know why you eat Eddie's. Keep sending them in!
We are also in the planning stages of creating a fun-filled summer, traveling around the state to different farmer's markets and outdoor events. Remember, if you can't make it to one our retail locations , feel free to order your bars online.
Below, you'll find information on T-shirts, and an informative article on snacking from Dinneen Diette, our resident nutritionist and wellness coach, and strategies we are using to go green!
Happy Spring!

To Snack or Not to Snack? By: Dinneen Diette
Today people seemed more confused than ever about food - when to eat, what to eat, how to eat - and the list goes on. I’m going to help demystify a question I often get from my clients, which is “Should I SNACK?” It seems simple enough, but surprisingly it has turned into a confusing area.
In recent years the snacking reputation hasn’t been so great. Most of the foods that have dominated as snack foods over the last decade (or two) haven’t been the healthiest choices. Think of the times you've grabbed a handful of candy at a colleague's desk, bought a cookie from the coffee shop, or eaten a bag of chips from the vending machine. They provide a lot of calories without much nutrition. And that doesn’t include the calories we might drink. There are the sodas, highly caffeinated so-called energy drinks, and the upscale versions of coffee such as hot and cold lattes and mochas. These often pack a hefty punch of calories and may also supply a good lump of the day’s sugar, fat and unhealthy carbohydrates!
So yes, snacks and snacking has gotten a bad rap lately, but snacking IS good for you. However, when to snack, why to snack, and what you snack on are key.

We are very proud to announce that Eddie's has decided to take the steps necessary to be as green as we possibly can. Now, what exactly does that mean? Well, here are three ways we're going green:
1. Our Distribution: We have cut the deliveries to our retailers almost in half. Our retailers now stock excess bars in their freezers. Bye bye fossil fuels!
2. Paper Products: We are on the way to making the transition to recycled paper.
3. Energy Bar Packaging: We have just upgraded to a lower-density bag. That means our manufacturer uses less plastic, which means less fossils fuels to produce our bags. The bags are not recyclable yet, unfortunately. Learn More about the other ways Eddie's is going green! |
