Making Eddie's Energy bars from natural ingredients with no preservatives means that their shelf life is limited.  This short shelf life means that your bars were baked shortly before you ordered them.  The shelf life is as follows:

1-2 Weeks on your kitchen counter in normal (cool and dry) conditions.
4 weeks in the fridge.
6 months in the freezer.  Eddie's Energy Bars stay soft in the freezer.

Believe it or not, Eddie's Energy Bars are made by the Adams Family of Richmond, Vermont.  Every bar that goes out our door is handmade, hand packaged, and hand labeled.  Every once in a while, we'll get the help of friends and family who get free bars in exchange for their help.

Each energy bar contains great sources of protein, fiber, and iron, good carbohydrates, and no trans fats!

Protein is important because it as an essential unit to the body's nutrition and rebuilding efforts.  It also helps to combat cholesterol and heart disease, along with filling you up, so you don't feel hungry later.

Fiber is important because, when eaten regularly as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, soluble fiber has been shown to help lower blood cholesterol. Oats have the highest proportion of soluble fiber of any grain (Americn Heart Association).  Eddie's Energy Bars are loaded with oats, do give you that "I'm full" feeling.

Iron is essential for making hemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen to other cells. It's also an important component of myoglobin (a protein that helps supply oxygen to your muscles), collagen (a protein in bone, cartilage, and other connective tissue), and many enzymes. Half of your calories should come from carbs. Carbs provide the body with glucose, which is the main fuel for the central nervous system, the brain.  You need it for energy. You don't want to eliminate or avoid it. Carbs also provide the body with fiber, which fills us up and can help us manage weight and gastrointestinal health, among other things (HealthWatch).

Why? We want you to know what you are eating.  We know, it's about time companies start doing that.

When we formed EEB, and started producing our homemade energy bars, we  decided on a packaging philosophy of clear and simple. 

We thought hard and long about how our packaging should be constructed, and we finally decided on a clear package with a simple label, nothing flashy.  We believe in seeing what you are eating, and knowing what you are eating before you make your purchase decision.  We are proud of our product and are not afraid to show it off.

Nope. All of our bars are processed using the same equipment.  However, bars containing nut products are produced at the end of our daily runs in order to minimize any allergens. Our bars are wheat free though!

We buy a lot of bulk ingredients from the Vermont Green Grocer in Richmond, VT, supporting the local economy.  We also use Comeau Family Sugarhouse Maple Syrup out of Williston, VT for our maple walnut energy bar (a local favorite).
